I have tried to upgrade to High Sierra in the past as well (I have the 5.21gb installer in my Applications folder from Nov 20 2017) but I think whatever issue is affecting any macOS upgrade. I suspect I'll get simple replies to do "X" that won't work, I don't expect to get help here, but I'm starting to adventure out to resolve this (and since Apple doesn't let me schedule Genius Bar appointment for this issue, this is my next step). No errors or anything, just after restart nothing happens.
